Just another natural skincare brand..

It’s a line I hear all the time ‘Isn’t it hard being a natural skincare business in such a saturated market?’ The answer is yes – it is, but why would I let that deter me from doing something I love. Over the last five years the natural skincare industry has blossomed (forgive my botanical reference there) in fact natural products are fast becoming the preferred option for many people worldwide. With the rise in popularity of natural products comes the rise of natural skincare businesses. Does this bother me? Of course not. If anything, it makes me more excited that people have such wonderful and quality natural products to choose from. It means that more people are switching to natural products, more people are experiencing these beautiful ingredients, more people are being good to our planet, and more people are walking around with insanely good-looking skin.

Education in this area is one of the contributing factors. People are becoming aware of what they are putting on their skin and how this is absorbed through the skins epidermal layers into your bloodstream. One of the first things I do when I pick up a product is turn to the back to read the ingredient list. The rule of thumb is that if you can’t pronounce the name then it probably isn’t good for you, also if it sounds like a chemical – it is a chemical. All throughout my teens and early twenties I was completely unaware of the damaging effects of the products I was using. I remember using facial washes with actual bleach in them to treat my acne (oh my lord) having no idea that these harmful ingredients were seeping into my body and being absorbed by every organ. I didn’t know about mother nature’s goods back then and was unfortunately using other nasty, cheap, synthetic products in replace of nutritious, therapeutic, and skin loving ingredients. Thankfully about five years ago I was introduced to the power of nature, we hit it off immediately and have been inseparable ever since. I will never go back to any unnatural products ever again.

Yes, Woodsy is ‘just another natural skincare range’ but it’s so much more than that. It’s a way of ensuring that there are options out there for people to make the switch to natural and Woodsy has been made an affordable natural skincare option for this very reason. I made Woodsy merely to showcase my own love for the beautiful colours and properties of natural ingredients and to create a range that would let each ingredient remain as close to its pure state as possible. Each product I lovingly craft by hand and feel a connection to every product that goes out to my customers. It’s a labour of love where quality is highly valued over quantity. Each product you hold in your hand has been derived from endless hours of recipe perfecting and trial and error (a lot of error I must add).

So, I encourage you please to go forth and switch to natural. Whatever product you may choose, your skin and planet will thank you immensely for it. Nature and you…it’s a relationship that can’t be broken.

Not just natural ingredients but glass bottles. As a material, glass can be recycled indefinitely, so it’s great for the planet in that way too. How many other skincare products rave about nature, but are in plastic packaging?
